Team Number: 007 School Name: Espanola Valley High School Area of Science: Biology Project Title: What are the Genetic Variations in Humans? |
Genetic variation among individuals is due largely to the recombination of alleles that result from meiosis and fertilization. In this project, we will use a few genetically determined traits to observe genetics variation among classmates.
The purpose of out projects is to observe some genetically determined human traits and variation in humans. Our analysis of this project is to determine how many different combinations of the five traits are possible. How many combinations would be possible with six traits. Seven. Eight. Also, why is it virtually certain that except for identical twins, even offspring of the same parents will not be genetically identical.
Chart: Have the class of 2001 from EVHS to consider the trait listed in the center of the chart. If they have the trait circle yes, if not circle no. Then, form the sector you choose move outward to the next circle following the same procedure like before, until the outermost circles are complete. When they complete the outermost circle they are going to note the number trait that is opposite of their sector.
