Problem Definition:
Windows Registry editing has been a tricky matter for a lot of users of Windows, even power users. To make changes easier than using the standard Regedit supplied by Windows, we have decided to create our own search program. Our "spider" will decode the information in the registry and transfer it into more elucidated terms which it can be made more pliable.

Problem Solution:
The program will be structured by a similar system that the registry itself. Tags and keys, which are assigned as variables in the program, will be called up by certain listed parameters given as input. Using a hierarchical style our program will sift throughout the registry and search what parameters was given by the user of our program.

Progress to Date:
Right now, we are stuck at the location of finding how the Registry was written. The combinations of diverse hexadecimal, decimal, and binary tags inside of the core are not quite understood to us yet. We have tried posting questions at Experts_Exchange.com and other various Internet forums. The program consists of a program which locates the input of certain files we have decided to have relevance to our exploration of the Registry.

Expected Results:
We hope to build a complex and instrumental program. Failsafes will be added such as warnings and given outcomes of operations with descriptions. We hope to have time to add other customizations to make the program as involved or simplistic as the user wishes. Our audiences we are trying to reach upon the completion of our system are system administrators that could tailor the contents of their systems without a detailed, in-depth knowledge of the Windows Registry to their suiting.
