Challenge Team Interim Report
The Problem In the course of the year, individuals in the United States suffer 1 billion colds, according to some estimates. The common cold usually begins two to three days after infection; a fever usually climbs to 102 degrees F. Cold occasionally can lead to secondary bacterial infections of the middle ear or sinuses that require treatment with antibiotics. Antibiotic is a medication, which is a dead cell. In order for the bacteria to produce other cells of its own it needs to produce its own cells in other cells of the body, so when the bacteria infects the cell it use the membrane of the cell to produce a factory of bacteria. When the factory of the bacteria is completed it explodes and many more cells are produce. The symptoms of a cold are coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, body aches, sinus congestion, fever, and headaches The Solution A program in C++ will be used to simulate an actual person with the cold. The "person" will be given certain medicines and will simulate side effects and will produce results which we will record and compare to other results and from there we will find the safest medicine. To complete our project, we will provide date from various medicines and prove which are the safest and which prove to be harmful.
