Project Title: Contruction of Highway 44

Abstract
Interim
Final Report

Problem Definition:

New Mexico's highway 44 is under construction. There will be many problems and changes that will come with the construction of 44. The traffic flow, population, as well as the business will be effected by the construction on highway 44.

This project is important because it effects the community that we live in. We will gather information on how much the traffic flows through the town of Cuba. We will also find out how much business is expected to increase. We want to see weather the population will increase or decrease.

Problem Solution:

By doing this we will ask the businesses and the community of Cuba for their help in supplying us with the information that we need. We will also be contacting a major contractor for information on highway 44. We will be getting in touch with people from the highway department. we will also find a mathematical model to help us calculate the amount of business. Whether the businesses are increasing or decreasing. We also want to know if the population will increase or decrease.

Progress to Date:

We have collected information on the traffic flow on highway 44 that flows through the Town of Cuba. We have talked to a construction contractor and he has given us an amount of traffic that flows through Cuba. This information was contained by a device lain across the road that would count the number of cars that ran over the device.

Expected Results

We are expecting that the construction will help the town of Cuba grow. The construction will bring a lot of traffic that will come threw Cuba and because of the long drive they will stop. This in return increases the business in Cuba. However, we do not know whether the population will increase or decrease. It might make people stay but because of the new road, people may decide to leave.
