Challenge Team Interim Report
Problem Definition: The correlation between participating in a student activities and the fundamental of edu-cation has been a controversy for many years. The controversy is how essential extra-curriculum activities are to a student's education and to their ability to gain knowledge of want is been taught. Presently, extra-curricular activities are something to do with spare time. Consequently, these activities were thought to strain time from homework and studying time. Problem Solution: To prove that an extra-curricular activity is a part of the fundamental part of a student's education, we passed out surveys to students at Newcomb High School. The surveys asked for their present grade, past grades, list of activities and a question that asked if they think being in an activity has done to their grade. We will transfer the data to a statistical program. Presently, We are uncertain what the program will do and how it will be presented. After the results are shown, we are going to do extensive research on the outcome of scientific concerning student education to further prove the hypothesis. Progress to Date: We have collect enough surveys to be computes into a program. Presently, We do not have a C++ program written. We are also doing research on past experiments on the subject from scientific, past Super Computing Team, and from other sources. Expected Results: Currently, we have extracted enough data but no program. The results that are expected are that we can prove that student activities are an important role of students learning ability. We also want to find in what way such activities are making students so better than those who are no in any activities. Team Members Sponsoring Teachers Project Advisor(s) |
