Project Title: A Computational Model of Shock Waves

A Computational Model of Shock Waves

Our project will determine the impact of shock waves from a nitroglycerine explosion on three planes. This information is useful in the mining operations to determine the effects of the blast on the enviroment, and in the military when predicting destructiveness. Trigonometry and algebra II will be used to model the explosion based on stoichiometric data, oxygen required and the resultant forces produced. Computers will help set the parameters and to calculate the impact on the three planes.
