Project Title: What is a safer way of dectecting harmful gases?

Our project is to send a robot into a building to detect anthrax. We don't understand what kind of robot we need to make or to do this kind of project nor do we have the materials, we need such as: · Communication with robot · Wheels, control · Timer · Container · Program to run the robot · Materials to test the sample · The robot has to be tall enough for the sample container and wide enough to not tip over

We want to make our model square shape, and we don't know how we are going to test what kind of bacteria we picked up, but we want to have a little camera to see were the camera is going inside the building, but we don't know how or what we need to be able to do this. We came up with the idea of using a remote controlled car and building a sensor and mounting it on top of the car. The sensor would take n air sample by a vacuum of same sort from a certain room or building and using the remote to guide it back to where it is safe for human beings to reach the sample and test it. For us to be able to track the car we thought that we would include a radar or something of that nature for us to be able to track where the robot is at.

The progress that we have made is looking up some information on the types of gases and poisons that we could program the sensor to detect. Each member of the group found some pretty interesting information when we did this. We haven't found a good enough source that we could use to help us learn how to program the robot and the actual software to do this with. We've got some pretty good ideas of where to look. This is where a mentor could really help us out because we need some information but we don't know what to do with it.
