2002 Summer Teacher Institute

The AiS Challenge, with a great 12-year track record, is partnering with NASA-AMES and Tennessee State University to have another exciting STI (Summer Teacher Institute) at San Juan College in Farmington, the first two weeks of June 2002. The STI is for High School and middle school teachers who anticipate sponsoring student teams during the 2002-2003 academic year. Middle School Teachers will be considered only if enrollment allows.

The course will be a 3 credit graduate course. Potential topics include: Computational Science, Mathematical Modeling, Project Management Tools, Collaborative Tools, Technical Writing, Web-Based Research, Programming, Data Analysis, Web Page Design, your own Supercomputing Project, and a general overview of the Adventures in Supercomputing Challenge program — Meet the Instructors

All expenses will be paid including housing, food allowance, expense stipend, three credit hour graduate class, software, and books.


To officially register for the 2002 STI:

  1. Sign the letter of commitment

  2. Fill out our pre-STI skills evaluation
