Project Title: Radiation
Uranium is a silvery radioactive metal. Native Americans were hired to mine the metal without knowing about the hazardous radiation. Now it is a threat to the lives of our people.
Today some of the abandoned mines are still around. It is important to us because there are still open mines, mill tailings, and groundwater is being exposed. The radiation is leaking into the air and water, contaminating it, and that is harmful to our people, livestock, and our natural resources.
We will research, talk to exposed/effected people, ex-miners, BHP employees, RECA members, Office of Uranium, testing, geologists, resource members of the staff, and a spokesperson.
Our plan of action we hope to use is the Scientific Method.
