Project Title: Effects of Drinking and Driving
There are many known causes and consequences of alcohol abuse. The effects to health and life are a major issue in this conflict.
The problem is there are too many DWI's and DUI's in the state of New Mexico. There are also too many fatalities due to people driving while intoxicated. Drunk Driving remains a serious national problem that tragically affects thousands of victims annually. Every single injury and death caused by drunk driving is totally preventable. Another problem is that we are the second highest state to have people die as a result of DUI and DWI violations.
We have said we wanted stiffer penalties for this problem, and we wanted to try to increase the age limit for purchasing liquor in the state of New Mexico. Alcohol abuse can result in brain damage and loss of vision in the future.
So far, we have collected some data and we did some research on the Effects of Drinking and Driving in the state of New Mexico. We got some graphs and charts of the total fatalities in the state of New Mexico.
We expected to get stiffer penalties for this problem so that they can be punished more than in the past, especially if they killed an innocent person in an accident. We also expected to increase the age of purchasing liquor to reduce the fatalities in New Mexico.
