    School Name: Roswell High School

    Area of Science: Astrophysics

Project Title: Colonizing Mars: A Feasibility Study

Abstract
Interim
Final Report

The team's objective is to explore and assess the feasibility of placing 100 people in a colony on Mars for 10 years. This is important to solving the overpopulation of Earth anbd resource depletion thereof. Placing a colony on Mars would also allow for the research and study of extra-terrestrial resources.

The team plans to conduct extensive research on the planet Mars using library and Internet resources, as well as correspondence with members of the federal space program. The ream will utilize the supercomputer to analyze what resources will be needed to colonize Mars, and to determine which of those resources are available on planet and which will need to be brought from Earth. Using this data, the team will determine the feasibility of colonizing Mars given anticipated development in space vehicles.
