Project Title: The Impact of Public Usage on Land

Abstract
Interim
Final Report

Have you ever driven through a desert and seen a subdivision pop out of nowhere? Or have you ever experienced the smell of raw sewage while sitting on your back porch? Well, our project will examine the effects of public usage of New Mexico's land. This project will involve certain plots of land that we will, in a way, study with photographs and numerical measurements of certain aspects of the land.

The groups of "land samples" that we are studying will break down between land that is being ussed and that which is unused. We will use computers to store, graph, and correlate the data we find so as to make a more accurate model of our project.

We chose this project because it can provide information on the effect of human interaction with the land, such as land erosion, and could allow us to make more appropriate laws on land usage. We hope to get enough evidence to provide a very vivid picture of what human interaction does to the land.
