Challenge Team Abstract
Have you ever wondered what holds our Universe together? For years astronomers have looked into other galaxies and noticed that, according to Newton's Law of Gravity and the Laws of Motion, there is not enough visible matter to hold the galaxy together. For this reason, this is assumed that there is another type of matter reffered to as Dark Matter because we can't see it but we assume it is there. All physicists have argued about Dark Matter. Some say it is planets;others say neutrinos; some even say it is black holes; and others say that it is something that we have never seen before. We intend to investigate this problem by creating a simple two-dimensional galaxy and placing different types of matter in different places to see how it will react. If we have the time and energy we will expand it to a three-dimensional galaxy to make it a little bit more realistic. Team Members
