E.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The problem of the report is the spread of the smallpox virus. The virus is dropped as a biochemical weapon and is transported downwind. The downwind takes the virus to a city created by New Mexico’s statistics3. It is then cast over the city and is spread throughout the air. The area is being contaminated in a matter of seconds. The idea of this program is to give an overview of a biochemical weapon filled with the smallpox virus being released in a populated area. The solution will give a number and percentage of people that will become infected by the initial contact. A second program will give the number and percentage of people over the following years after the initial release.
The results found that 50.552% of the initial population is infected with the virus. The second program ran for fifteen years. The percentage of the infected remained constant at 43%, (Appendix 4, 5) while the population decreased as the years went on.
The smallpox virus will continue to cause death on a human host born from 1980 to the present day. It is a virus that is considered dead, but there are still stocks of smallpox available for research and also open to terrorists.
