    School Name: Magdalena High School

    Area of Science: Computer Science

    Project Title: Encryption

Abstract
Interim
Final Report

When we started our project at the beginning of this year, our members had never worked with C++ programming before. We spent the beginning of the year learning some of the basics of the programming. we have learned to write simple programs.

In the past month, we have been working on the program codes slant.c and unslant.c through Phase I and II at the guided project site. We have begun to learn how the program uses the transposition ciphering method to encode and decode messages.

Three of our team members are taking a beginners C++ programming class in which they have continued working on the programming requirements of the guided project. The other member of our team, who is not in the programming class, has spent time researching other methods of encryption.

Since, we have begun looking at different types of encryption methods found on the challenge web site, we can soon decide exactly which cipher we will write our program for.

The challenge members in the computer programming class have also been working on Phase III of the guided project.

We will begin working on the actual programming of our own code program very shortly. so far, we have learned the beginnings of C++ programming and have studied how we can use this programming to encrypt and decrypt messages, which is what we need to begin writing our own encryption program.
