AiS Challenge participants tour Sandia Labs

On March 20, 2003, a group of AiS Challenge participants from Alamogordo and Shiprock high schools participated in a tour of Sandia National Laboratories.

Eleanor Walther, Tom Laub, and Patrick Milligan welcomed us to Sandia and gave us an overview of the Laboratories. Then Ireena Erteza talked about Synthetic Aperture Radar and Howard Passell demonstrated a water model of the Albuquerque basin.

After having lunch at the Coronado Club, we toured the Computer Annex.

And then went on to the International Programs center.

The day was enjoyed by all and we thank Sandia for providing this opportunity for the participants in the Adventures in Supercomputing Challenge.
