Project Title: Water Pollution
Our definition of water pollution is the contamination or pollution of the water caused by human activities, either intentionally or accidentally. An example of the intentional pollution of water is people knowingly dumping toxic waste into bodies of water. An example for accidental pollution is when oil from leaking vehicles seeps into the ground and contaminates ground water. We plan to study the problem of water pollution and its effects on people in San Juan County. It is important to learn about water pollution so we can have a better understanding of the problem and perhaps slow the rate of the pollution. As we work through our project, we hope to gain greater knowledge of how to be environmentally friendly and find ways to conserve what natural water we have left.
