Problem- How do disasters affect society and economies?

 Purpose- To see how the effects of dramatic disasters affect society and economics. Because these effects have such an influence on our society, it is important that we understand them and can devise appropriate tools to manage and counteract them.

Actions- We will look at how an economy is affected by viewing the direct result on New York both before and after the 9/11 attack. We will study statistics relating to the stock market, employment levels, import/export levels and productivity levels. This model will help to understand how dramatic disasters like the Twin Towers effect an areas social and economic status.
