Project Title: Are You Willing to Take The Chance?
Problem:
Teens are blind to the amount of sexual activity going on in their communities, let alone in their schools. They don't realize how many students and other teens are engaging in sexual activity and the dangerous amount of sexually transmitted diseases that may be spread.
Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to provide teens with information if they are planning to engage in sexual activity.
Procedure:
To gather my information, I will survey local schools and communities to determine the amount of sexual activity that is taking place among teens. I will obtain information on STD's from school nurses, community clinics, and individual students. The survey results will be analyzed using a probability statistic to determine the chances of a teen contracting an STD through sexual activity. I will compare my results with national statistics, and distribute my results to the communities and schools involved in the study.
