Zero Gravity Entertainment

Team: 13

School: ALTA VISTA MID

Area of Science: Astrophysics

Proposal:

Space has been the new frontier for a long time. Now, as technology is rapidly advancing the new frontier is becoming a reality. Within the next 20 years, humans will be embarking on flights to far off places such as Mars. The problem that is obvious at this point is this travel is going to take a while. Humans have a need to keep their minds and bodies active. The need for this entertainment is new and going to be an integral part of travel.

We propose to use the physics of friction and motion in micro to zero gravity to show how a toy might be developed. Using math to calculate the friction on a toy and how it will react in the little to no gravity will be important. Once the concept has been developed, we propose to use a computer to simulate how the toy will actually work in weightlessness.
