Optimization of TrajectoriesTeam: 38 School: HOMESCHOOL, MANZANO, PIUS Area of Science: Mathematics, Physics
Proposal: The optimization of trajectories can sometimes yield unexpected or unusual results. For example, it is possible to travel large distances in space using little energy by taking advantage of unusual dynamic conditions and interactions between orbiting bodies. We plan to explore the mathematical ideas underlying optimizations and the n-body problem.
