Acid Rain Vs. Metals

Team: 88

School: RIO RANCHO HIGH

Area of Science: chemistry

Proposal: Acid Rain vs. Metals

What metals can with stand acid rain better? We will be modeling the effects of acid rain on iron, copper, and steel. This project will help with later help in the construction of buildings in highly polluted in areas. So we can cut down on the destruction of those buildings. We hope we can achieve a better understanding of what acid rain does to certain metals. We will use starlogo to model this project and also work on it at one of our houses and school. Before we start the project we will research the ph level of rain water and the molecular density of the metals on the internet. When we make the model the turtles will be the acid rain and the patches will be the metal. After we make the model we will test it and compile the data. Then study the data and analyze that data.
