Diabetes within Two Pueblos

Problem: Through out Indian country diabetes is a major health concern, especially within the 19 pueblos of New Mexico. Our purpose is to see the effects of diabetes. We are focusing our attention on two pueblos one northern and one southern, with San Juan Pueblo also known as Ohkay Owingeh representing the North and Santo Domingo Representing the South.
Procedure: We are going to obtain reports from our health centers in San Juan and Santo Domingo and do several surveys to obtain data. We plan to compare the effects diabetes has on our people. We will be creating a computer model which will simulate the effect diabetes in both the northern and southern pueblos.
