Expo and Awards Ceremony Schedule

Here is the (tentative) schedule of events for April 2009:


Wednesday, April 1
  Final reports due
  Students/teachers register to come to the Expo 

Friday, April 3
  Nominations for the Best teacher sponsor sent to Consult

Monday, April 13
  Submissions for the Best Web presentation of a final report due

Wednesday, April 15
  Judges conference call - about half a dozen finalists will be determined.

Sunday, April 19
  Travel to Los Alamos, check in at the hotel
  Relax on your own in the evening

Monday, April 20
  7:00  Breakfast at the hotel
  8:00  The previously announced finalists will give 25 minute
          presentations to Finalist judges between 8:00 and 12:30
          at the University House, next to the Study Center.
        Everyone else will set up their posters and give their
          presentations to Expo judges at pre-assigned half-an-hour
          time slots between 8:30 and 11:30
        These presentations will be in the Library below the Study Center
          of the LANL Research Library
        After their presentations, teams will be able to take tours of
          Los Alamos National Laboratory
  9:00-12:00 Scholarship interviews with Scholarship judges
  11:50 Expo judges caucus
  12:00 Lunch
  12:30 Expo judges announce additional finalists
  1:00-4:00 Expo finalists make 30 minute presentations to Finalist judges
  1:00-5:00 Tours 
            Students and teachers vote for best project, technical poster,
            and logo during the tours.
  5:00-7:00  Reception at the Bradbury Science Museum
  7-9  Dinner (on your own)

Tuesday, April 21
 7:30  Breakfast at the hotel
 9:15  Travel to Awards Ceremony
 9:45-noon  Awards Ceremony in the auditorium of the Church of Christ
12:00  Lunch Reception and media interviews
 1:00  Depart Los Alamos
 1:00-3:00 GUTS participants visit LANL or the Bradbury Science Museum
