AI Robotic Tasks

Currently robots aren’t very versatile especially for ‘human’ tasks. I want to design a library where someone can download a “task” that can be uploaded onto a humanoid robot which will give it that capability. It is important that this problem is addressed because with the rise of robotics and AI in our society, these tasks will open up a plethora of possibilities when it comes to robotic movement and capabilities. Streamlining robotic activity throughout the world, would allow more and more tasks to be given to robots, and they will need the capabilities to do these tasks. This source talks about the many difficulties of designing robots and most of them relate to the “tasks” that I want to create: (https://eu-robotics.net/why-making-robots-is-still-hard/)

I plan to use a pair of virtual reality haptic gloves that I have been working on to record a hand movement/gesture that can be turned into a training data set from which I can develop an algorithm to reproduce that task in robots using the help of a tailored AI model. I know it is complex, and I may have to change certain parts when I run into difficulties. To test my results, I will first see if my algorithm can simulate basic hand motions, then I will move on to grasping objects before finally trying to lift them for use.
