The population of the earth is increasing. We want to figure out what conditions a spacecraft needs in order to land on Mars safely. The goal of this project is to determine how this would be possible so that scientists, engineers, and other experts could research the area and eventually expand the amount of places we can habitat. In order to calculate the possible outcomes of the launch and journey, we will be creating a computer model using Python and changing the variables to see what the ideal launch situation and flight conditions are. Some variables we will be implementing are the type of spacecraft, distance from Earth and Mars, speed of the spacecraft, and presence of space junk in the path of travel. We will examine the simulation results in order to determine under which conditions we are most successful and therefore likely to use in real life. The results could then be used by people who are interested in pursuing a human settlement in outer space to gauge how we could accomplish that.
