School Emergency Response

Proposal: Our project is based on school emergencies and how to better the communication between school staff. The app plans to gather data by finding the speed at which school staff manages to take control of a situation. School staff has to identify the problem, identify what plan to follow, and communicate with their front office about their students and what might be happening in their specific classroom area. Schools can react appropriately to most situations if there were more efficient ways to take control of what situation they may be in. Students put their safety into the hands of school staff to earn an education and with an app in place, the lives in schools can be protected. With other systems currently set in place that follow along with our project, we can look at which plans were the most efficient in communicating among school staff. Resources such as school safety directors and emergency response teams could be used to find what areas should be focused on while developing the app. Using the same resources, we can also find ways to possibly integrate ways to inform parents about certain situations and emergencies. The language we plan to use to create the app may be java or a program called app inventor which was where the app first started.
