Research Plan/ Project Summary

Rationale- Raise awareness of the potentially dangerous effects of Co2 in the atmosphere to be able to come up with a solution to lower those levels.

Research Question- Do different levels of Co2 in the air cause more precipitation in the atmosphere?

Hypothesis- If there are higher levels of Co2 in the air then it will produce higher levels of condensation (water vapor/greenhouse gas) because humidity amplifies the warming of Co2 in the atmosphere.

Procedure- In this experiment I will be using three fluorescent light tubes, water, and dry ice. I will begin by filling each light tube with the same amount of water, then put different amounts of dry ice in each one and seal the top. After completing that, I will check up on the tubes every three days for 4 weeks and collect the data using a data chart (amount of condensation drops at the top of each tube). I will also be documenting the process of my experiment by camera. The camera will be programmed to take a snapshot after every minute. Eventually, that will bring me to the conclusion of what happens to the atmosphere when different levels of Co2 are placed in the air.

Risk & Safety- A potential risk would be handling the dry ice, gloves will be included for handling the dry ice.

Data Analysis- I will organize a data table to convert my data onto and document the visual of it through motion picture. I will then come up with a conclusion regarding my experiment results.
