Problem Statement: The project that I decided to do is making a model of a parking lot and the way that it can be divided into striped patterns and lines. It would be used to find out how many parking spots can fit in an area with many different option that the user can choose from. There shall be multiple different types of parking lots layouts and options the end user can choose from. I want to let the user put in as many different options such as how many parking spots they want, how many handicap parking spots do they want, do they need a fire lane in front of the store that they are building the parking lot for, do they want straight parking lines, parallel parking lines, perpendicular parking lines, or diagonal parking line.

Computational model: I plan to solve this problem computationally using NetLogo by allowing the user to put in all the specifics about the parking lot that they are making and them give the user many different options to choose from. I plan to have many different equations in the code to solve all the accommodations of the user. There will have to be many different equations for each of the options that I have for the user. By using all the different options that have been given to the user, they can create the most accurate parking lot that will have been fully customized.

Progress to Date: I have thought through and have research a lot on this project. By doing all of the research first this puts me a step ahead to knowing what the program needs to contain. I have started to work on the beginnings of the program now. They program has a simple background with lines being drawn by the turtles. This is the start to making the program one step at a time.

Expected Results: The results that I am expecting are for the program to have a very simple and user friendly interface that will not be complicated to use. I want this program to be very simple and easy to use but also but out the best results that the user is looking for in their parking lot that they are creating. I expect to let the user fully customize what parking lot that they are making. Long term goal for this project would to put the program in a drivable robot that will spray paint the lines on the ground to the parking lot.
