Proposal: 2020 is a crazy year, it was the start of a new decade and we start off this year with quarantine because of a virus called Covid-19. Covid has taken a lot of things away from all of us from family members who contracted the virus or those who got laid off from their jobs, its been a struggle for all of us. One of the ways of slowing the spread of the virus until we get a vaccine is through quarantining ourselves, keeping our distance from each other, and wearing face masks when we are out in public.
How much of doing our part will slow the spread of the virus? My solution to this question is by creating an epidemiological model of the disease and showing how by doing our part we could use the data from what we have now to show how the disease spreads and how long it would take for the disease to die out it these is no cure.
I plan to work on the model by using sample epidemiological models in NetLogo and using it to best replicate the disease progression. I’m going to get my data from the CDC and from comminutes like the Navajo Nation to show how their Covid restrictions has affected their infection rates.
