Project Title: Best type of fabric for masks.

Problem Definition:

We are in the middle of a pandemic, we are required to wear masks and we must keep the medical and N95 masks for the professionals, which leaves us with something that has been mass produced, fabric masks but what fabric is the best to use to protect ourselves?

Problem Solution:

The fabric you should use is a tightly woven cotton fabric, this type of fabric is best because it is a thicker fabric and if it is tightly woven then there are less holes for the virus to go through and will be caught on more fabric. There is also the hypothesis that silk would work very well against the virus.

Progress to date:

This project needs a lot of research, I need to do a little more research on the fabrics and I also did to do more research on the virus to see how fabrics could stop it from coming in and out. I am working on how to make the mask in Netlogo and testing out how I can let things go through it.
