Using solar energy to address global warming and sustainability

Proposal: Since burning fossil fuels causes global warming, and because we are reaching the end of the oil reserves, we plan to do more research about these problems and learn how to address them.
Our solution to the problem would be to propose using renewable sources of energy such as PV systems on a larger scale. We will present the outcome of our research and our proposed solution in the following forms:
- a video presentation explaining global warming and its consequences; renewable sources of energy, mostly solar energy such as PV systems (how they work, how to figure out their size, price, and payoff time);
- Python script that will be used to 1) gather input from the user about his/her energy usage, 2) determine the size of the PV system, its’ price and payoff time as well as 3) graphical representation of monthly AC energy produced by such PV system;
- a programmable prototype solar panel that will react to the light;
- a report about all we’ve learned during this project.
