Interim: Working on pseudocode for our StarLogo Nova program. The decisions we have made so far regarding the variables for this project include: starting numbers of cats, mice, and cheese, the design of the house (number of rooms, design of windows, mouse holes and doorways), behaviors of cats and mice when not being controlled by a player. We have also discussed replication conditions for the cats and mice and spontaneous random generation of the cheese on the floor.
We have also decided to introduce new elements since the submission of our proposal. We will include dogs that will chase the cats! We make the mice the fastest, the cats slower than the mice and the dogs the slowest. We will also decide how many mice, cats and dogs to introduce relative to one another. (We will likely make the mice the most numerous.) We may also introduce alternate food sources (meat) for the cats and the dogs. Another alteration may be an increase in speed for the animals right after they eat (a temporary speed boost). We will also introduce a timer for how long the cats and mice individually have to find food (we were thinking they each get a minute to find some food before they disappear).
The score will be determined by how many mice the cats eat.
We have been using a Jamboard to record our psuedocode:
