The Problem
Many students in New Mexico do not have internet accessibility or stability. This can cause interference with students’ at-home learning. Datacasting will provide a more convenient and stable internet connection for those who currently do not have access.
The Importance
Our purpose is to provide evidence of datacasting effectiveness. The ideal results are a consistent, stable, and high-speed system. The program provides a portal to educational content for students who cannot receive broadband internet. The importance of reliable internet connectivity allows students to have equal opportunities for education.
The Plan
Our plan involves surveying 100 families across Taos County who have data casting equipment in their homes, then observing if the educational experience improves. The equipment itself, such as the external monitoring system Raspberry Pi, provides diagnostic data.
