Supercomputing Challenge Video Contest

Sponsored by NM-CSTA (the New Mexico Computer Science Teachers Association) and the Supercomputing Challenge

Goal

Create a two-minute video showing the Supercomputing Challenge Journey from the Kickoff to Expo Awards Day. Winning video will be shown to the state legislature and showcased on TV stations.

Video should include as many of these milestones as possible:

  • Kickoff
  • proposal work
  • research
  • interim report
  • mentors
  • peer sharing
  • February evaluation
  • teaming
  • Final Report
  • display board
  • Expo Awards

Prize:

Team prize of $200

Winning video characteristics:

Layout flow and design

Excellent organization. Titles are added to enhance understanding. Transitions are timed for smooth movement between scenes. (20 points)

Concise Introduction to Specific Audience

Created for students, teachers, parents, policy makers or funders. (20 points)

Technical Elements

The camera work is smooth and the focus is crisp. Sound and visual files are distortion free. Music is optional. (20 points)

Collaboration

Effective teamwork is obvious. The final product represents something that would have been impossible to accomplish working alone. (20 points)

Credits

Each video needs to be accompanied by a Credits List with signed releases from all who have participated. (20 points)

Submission Date

Submissions will be due on April 15th.

Submission Procedure

Either post it on YouTube and send Consult the link, or send in the file to Consult.
