Kaktovik is a small town in Northern Alaska, and about 30 years ago middle school students and their teacher created a numeral system based on the Inupiaq language. I want to create an app that teaches the Kaktovik system. I hope that learning the Kaktovik system with the app I am making will help improve student's academic levels. The students from Kaktovik learned both the Kaktovik system and the most commonly used system of today, the Hindu-Arabic system. After one year of learning both systems, they showed a very high increase in standardized test scores. The app will be similar to another app named Duolingo which teaches different languages. Being bilingual has shown to create many benefits which likely means that being bilingual in mathematical terms could be beneficial as well. I'm using a coding language named SwiftUI in Xcode to create this app. With SwiftUI I can create different pages with different texts that explain the Kaktovik system which will be followed by a quiz. You will then be able to continue learning about Kaktovik. SwiftUI is similar to which of Python, but Swift is connected to iOS in order for it to create apps.
