Predicting Rainfall and Irrigation Allotment in the Arch Hurley Conservancy District

Currently (week of 9/23) 96.9% of the state of New Mexico is considered to be in drought. With 42% of farmers stating that they plan to change crops in this upcoming growing season. Though we can't fix this problem if we can predict how much rainfall will occur in a year and how much water farmers will be receiving from Conchas, farmers will have a better idea of what they should plant. To predict the amount of rainfall that Conchas receives I will look at records and try to find a pattern. I will take into account temperature, precipitation, and water release. To model this I will work with the net logo program. To see if we are accurate I will stop the data in 2018, and compare that to the actual number. This will hopefully give farmers on the Eastern side of the State of New Mexico that would be receiving water from Conchas a way to decide what crops would be best suitable to the amount of rainfall and water release they should receive.
