Analysis of Existing Thermal Energy Storage Concepts for Distributed and Grid Storage

My proposal is to determine the viability of scaling existing Thermal Energy Storage solutions into distributed or grid scenarios. Based on the results, it is possible to get a better view of which solutions work best for different scales of storing energy with TES. I intend to examine the possibility of using distributed TES for building-level electrical and heating applications, such as home infrastructure. I will start by researching existing solutions and concepts for TES and selecting the most promising ideas for our needs. I will then search for or build numerical models to simulate the TES scenarios and use graphs and visualization tools to examine the quality of the results.
