Buffon's Needle is a
problem first posed by French
Naturlist and mathmetician, Comte de Buffon. The experiment consists of
dropping a needle on a hardwood floor. The event of interest is to see if
the needle crossed one of the floorboard cracks.The probability of this
experiment leads to a statistical estimate of pi.
