MY definition of the problem

The problem on which we are focusing is ___How visuals can affect music____.
This problem is important/relevant/interesting/intriguing because of a past experience I had which led me to come up with this idea. For some background, I greatly dislike emo, gothic, and heavy metal songs and aesthetics. There was this song that I liked, but I noticed that it was also on the side of heavy metal. I just overlooked this though. Then on YouTube I saw a music video for this specific song, and I watched it. In the video there were people swinging their hair around, and everyone was wearing black. It was basically a very emo and goth kind of music video. That influenced me greatly and now I really don’t like that song, so I decided to see if I could make other people experience what I did.
In the past, people haven't really done anything specifically like this. I did some research and I couldn’t find any other people who had done this before.
Some of the variables that influence/affect the problem include what music is used, what visuals are used, and the overall look and vibe of the visuals(Basically background characters, terrain, Urban area/Rural area, time of day in animation).

MY plan to solve the problem computationally

First, since I’m going to make animations for this stuff, I’ll need a storyboard(s) to see what I’ll be animating first. Then I’ll get all the music I need. Since I already have one piece of music that I made myself I’ll need 2 more.

The next step was to make the animation. Then I’ll make a survey to test people(I understand that this is biased and I will add that to my data).

After that, I will make a video to present all of this because it’s a little more convenient..

MY progress researching the problem

Since I’ve done this project before I have all my sources and information, now I just need to apply some things from my sources into my project. From what I’ve researched, different types of people react to different kinds of music, and are either drawn to or not for different types of music. In response to this, I’ll be creating 3 different animations: one for Heavy metal, one for pop, and one for lofi. Keep in mind that all of this is instrumental music, so that my testers cannot be affected by the lyrics of any song.

MY progress coding

I have started work on the background for the area I’ll be animating in. I also have a storyboard(s) that is necessary for making cutscene animations. I have worked on it and I have my sister drawing it for me because my drawing is bad.

MY expected results

I expect that when I finish the animation and the survey, when I will be testing watching this they’ll be Surprised & Happy, Confused and Unsure, or They won’t like it. I’ll make this multiple choice so that it'll be easier for me to process all the information into an Excel sheet/ Google slide. I’ll also try to create a video on this, so I don’t have to present this live.
