Proposal: Many buildings left unattended for extended periods of time can be damaged by water and/or gas leaks. These damages can become extremely expensive making an early warning device necessary. Due to this problem, our team plans to hack a Roomba to autonomously detect water and/or gas leaks to prevent further damages. Once the robot detects a problem it will send a text message to your phone to alert you of a problem. It will be essential to program this robot to find the most efficient way to protect buildings from these damages.
