Area of Science: Ecology
Proposal: We want to build an ecosystem model that simulates how our area appeared millions of years ago. We will do this using the computer program StarLogo after we have collected enough data to make this possible. The Dinosaur Museum in Tucumcari has offered to help us with our study, Our model will be based on the predator and prey models that have been done for current types of plant and animal life. We expect that fossil remains will tell us the types of plants and animals to add to our model, and give us some idea as to their various numbers. We want this model to be able to help other students learn about the ecology of dinosaurs, and how they lived.
