police violence

Proposal: We want to look at the problem of police being violent to civilians. We think this is a problem because people of color face more violence from police than others. Our idea is to use a model to show the statistics of how police interact with civilians of different races and then to see what happens if we give them a tool to help not be racist in their interactions. We are thinking we want to show how the deaths from violent interactions would change if the police did not have guns. Our hypothesis is that they will still wind up with lots of deaths even without guns because they beat people with their batons.
