This simulation is greatly simplified by assuming that the rattleback has no slip at the point of contact. This assumption makes solving for the equations a much easier process, since there are not as many equations prior to solving. Three more equations in addition to the six nonlinear ordinary differential equations would have to be solved without this assumption. |
